RISERVA NATURALE DI VALLOMBROSA
Just a stone's throw from Florence, among the fir trees and beech trees of the Vallombrosa nature reserve, stand the tallest trees in Italy!
Located on the slopes of Pratomagno, this protected forest of 1,270 ha forms a green lung 40 km from Florence. It is known for its Benedictine abbey and some of the largest trees in Italy! The famous "Percorso Metato" trail leads to these immense American firs(Pseudotsuga menziesii), planted at the beginning of the 20th century, and which exceed 60 m in height. For a picnic in the forest, in the shade of these giants, the "pratone" of Vallombrosa is the ideal place!
