Church composed of a nave and a tower-choir of square plan, extended on the east by a three-sided apse
Saint Nicholas, patron saint of schoolchildren, all young Alsatians know the nursery rhyme, less know that it is also the rhyme of girls to be married and sailors. The commune of Oberentzen was populated very early on, as evidenced by the prehistoric burials discovered. The first church is said to date from 1303, while the nave is from 1744. It consists of a nave with a ship's nave and a choir-tower with a square plan, extended to the east by a three-sided apse. The interior, recently restored and very rich, is worth a look, unlike the deteriorated exterior.
