EDDYSTONE POINT LIGHTHOUSE
A lighthouse rising to 42 meters above sea level at the northernmost point of Mount William National Park and Bay of Fires.
This 42 meter high lighthouse dates back to 1889. It is located at the northern end of Mount William National Park and Bay of Fires. Its construction was decided in 1875, after the discovery of submerged rocks responsible for the numerous shipwrecks. The location of Eddystone Point was chosen because of its accessibility and the maritime coverage that the structure would have. However, it took 14 years and many other disasters for this lighthouse to be built.
