Pink-sand beach, Lombok's most famous beach, a must-visit address to discover an impressive natural spectacle.

Lombok's most famous beach, Tangsi Beach, better known as Pink Beach, is one of only 10 pink sand beaches in the world. Indonesia has 2, the other being in Flores. Micro-organisms - Foraminifera - produce a red pigment that is deposited on coral reefs. This phenomenon is the result of their erosion. Of course, the beach is not bright pink. It's best viewed in the early morning or evening, when the sun rises or sets, and from high up on the cliffs, where the phenomenon is most visible.
