PONT DE CERKOVICA
This beautiful bridge has two arches. It leads to the monastery of St. John the Theologian.
Built of stone, this beautiful hogback bridge (Ura e Cerkovicës, Γέφυρα στην Τσερκοβίτσα/Gefira stin Tserkovitsa) is the most important Ottoman-period structure in the Theologos region. Nestled in greenery, it spans the Theologos River with two arches, 37 m long and 2.60 m wide. It was built in the 17th century to link up with the monastery of St. John the Theologian, 600 m to the south. You can then reach a pretty 19th-century stone bridge at Leshnica e Poshtme (Kάτω Λεσινίτσα/Kato Lesinitsa), 5.5 km to the east, by 4 x 4 or on foot.
