MAISON DE HASAN TAHSINI
In the hamlet of Ninat. The birthplace of one of Albania's greatest intellectuals. Small museum.
Located in the hamlet of Ninat, this 18th-century building (Shtepia Muze e Hasan Tahsinit) is the birthplace of a great Albanian intellectual: Islamic theologian, mathematician and astronomer, Hasan Tahsini (1811-1881) was the first rector of the secular University of Constantinople (Istanbul), in 1868, and one of the creators of the modern Turkish and Albanian alphabets. Renovated in 2010, the house houses a small museum dedicated to Hasan Tahsini and anti-communist cham poet Bilal Xhaferri (1935-1980), also a native of Ninat.
