Most important underground necropolis with 18 interconnected burial chambers
Sant'Andrea Priu is one of the most important underground necropolises in Sardinia. With its 18 burial chambers, it is one of the largest in the Mediterranean basin. The domus of janas dug in a long spur of trachyte date from the end of the III millennium BC. (2400 - 2000 BC). These tombs look like so many small chambers connected to each other. Some of them have decorations that were meant to recreate a familiar setting for the deceased.
