Although the area is known as "Cherry Hill", these trees no longer exist. It was Sir John Alleyne, the owner of St. Nicholas Abbey at the time, who had them replaced by an avenue of mahogany trees to mark the signing of the 1763 Treaty of Paris, which ended the Seven Years' War. This viewpoint offers a dream panorama of the entire Scotland District and is a must-see for tourists. The hill is still part of St. Nicholas Abbey. It can be reached by steam train from the estate or by road.
