Grenade Hall combines a rejuvenating walk in a wild environment, accompanied by birdsong and the calls of green monkeys, with a plunge into Barbados' military past with the remains of one of the six signal stations built in 1818 (including Gun Hill, the best preserved). The rehabilitation of the station, which can be visited on audiotour, has been entrusted to the National Trust and the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, just across the road.
