MOUNT HILLABY
At 340 meters, Mount Hillaby, on the border between the parishes of St. Andrew and St. Thomas, is the highest point in Barbados. Climbing to the summit, a 12.6 km round-trip hike from Carrington, offers breathtaking views of the island, but it's not as easy as you might think, as the route is not obvious. If you're a relative novice, it's best to be accompanied by a guide (ask the Barbados Hike Association, for example). Start the hike very early to enjoy the freshness and the play of the morning mist on the landscape.
