Cattlewash is one of the island's wildest beaches. At almost 1.6 kilometers long, it's even the longest. Made of caramel-colored sand, the beach is perpetually assaulted by the ocean. It is therefore dangerous to swim here, but the walk from Bathsheba to Barclays Park is a pretty one. Where the sand rises, there are grape trees whose fruit can be picked in season. The origin of the name Cattlewash comes from the fact that locals used to bring their cows here to wash them and rid them of parasites.
