This festival is not only a celebration of cultures, but also an opportunity to share ancestral stories.
The International Festival of Saharan Cultures, nestled in the heart of the Ennedi, in the town of Amdjarass, has established itself since 2010 as one of the most spectacular events in the Sahara. Each year, colorful and vibrant parades enliven the streets, while talented musicians and passionate dancers celebrate the cultural heritage of the various ethnic groups present, such as the Toubous, Peuls, Djados and Zaghawas. Each ethnic group is distinguished by its magnificently adorned traditional costumes, adorned with symbolic motifs, and accompanied by their majestic mounts. Camel races delight spectators, while craftsmen display their creations. The festival is not only a celebration of cultures, but also an opportunity to strengthen ties between communities and share ancestral stories. After these days of festivities, we recommend an unforgettable experience: a camel trek through one of the Sahara's most breathtaking landscapes, the Ennedi. This UNESCO World Heritage site is renowned for its spectacular rock formations, deep canyons and unique biodiversity. Accompanied by experienced guides and a support vehicle, you'll have the opportunity to discover historic sites, ancient rock paintings and the wild beauty of the desert, while enjoying total immersion in nomadic culture.
