This was Togo's very first hydroelectric dam, built by the Yugoslavs between 1962 and 1964. The dam is only open during the rainy season, when it offers a spectacular sight at the foot of the waterfall of the same name. In the dry season, it's pleasant to picnic by the reservoir, in the shade of the mango trees. A small bar sells cold drinks, and sandwiches can be ordered. The place is cool and peaceful. On the lake, a few fishermen catch beautiful specimens in the traditional way. A pleasant break.
