This large Greek Orthodox monastery (Ιερά Μονή Αγίου Βησσαρίωνος Δουσίκου/Iera Moni Agiou Vinssarionos Dousikou) is set at an altitude of 650 m, on the side of Mount Koziakas, and offers fine views over the Trikala plain. It was founded in 1527 by the saint and metropolitan (bishop) of Larissa Bessarion II. In the main church: beautiful frescoes painted in 1557 and 18th-century iconostasis. Outside the complex: chapel open to women.
