DOMAINE JEAN GINGLINGER & FILS
The Ginglinger family can boast of having the vine in their blood for a very long time since the first traces of the estate date back to the 16th century. More than four hundred years later, the estate is now operating 6 ha of vines in the commune of Pfaffenheim, part of which is in the Steinert and Zinnkoepflé Grands Crus appellation area. Regional grape varieties, biodynamic cultivation, everything is done to create wines with as much identity and naturalness as possible. Jean-François Ginglinger wants to be an artisan winemaker, his conversion to organic farming is already old. Today, Boris (a strong horse) is used for ploughing. Harvesting is only done by hand, and if necessary, the grapes are sorted on the vine. He produces "natural" cuvées without any inputs to better restore all the flavour of their terroirs and preserve the true taste of the grapes. To be tested for example: Pinot gris 2017 and Gewurztraminer Maceration 2017. These high-flying vintages are characterised by their highly developed aromas after ageing.
