Friendly restaurant typical of the village of yesteryear with an Alsatian decor offering the daily menu with simple and good dishes
L'Auberge de l'Étoile is typical of the village restaurants of yesteryear. Most of the locals come here for an aperitif and/or a game of Loto or Tiercé, before heading into the dining room adjoining the bar. The decor is classic Alsatian, with painted plates hanging on the walls and blue pottery decorating the shelves, complementing the red geraniums adorning the many windows. There's no menu here, and no fuss: everyone eats the same thing: the menu of the day. From sales representatives to pensioners, from blue-collar workers to company directors, everyone is on the same diet and eating, in a hushed but friendly atmosphere, true village cuisine. Catering is only available at lunchtime, and there is no à la carte menu, which makes life easier for the more indecisive among us. The dishes are simple, but good and hearty.
