A great name in Alsatian viticulture, the Hugel family has been dedicated for generations to the promotion of Alsace wines. This estate of 30 ha, with a worldwide reputation, exported to more than 100 countries, is today managed by Jean-Frédéric and Marc-André, representing the 13th generation. Tastings are possible in their typical and charming cellar. A favorite is the Gentil Hugel 2021, which combines the spice of gewurztraminer, the body of pinot gris and the subtlety of riesling with the fruitiness of muscat and the thirst-quenching side of sylvaner.

Nous avons fuit.
While we did end up with a tasting, and we did buy some wine. Not as much as we could have or would have, because the staff were so rude!!! The experience was ruined by poor staff service and rudeness. We're an easy group to appease. In fact, many of us have lived in Europe collectively over 30 years. We know wine, we know customs, we have manners, and we know when we've been treated poorly versus misunderstandings. I'm sad because I've had to write this out and give a poor review.
It's a tourist town, it's a wine tasting room, be sure to hire good people! We took home cases of wine from other places. We live close enough to recommend people and travel back. We will not be recommending this place or revisiting.
I am a wine professional and I have visited many wineries all around the world. This was definitely one of my best experiences: delicious wines, friendly people and a very professional tasting.
Thank you, Famille Hugel and Loic!
Ottima accoglienza e professionalità.
