LE ROUGE DE SAINT-HIPPOLYTE
Alsatian gastronomy honoured in a warm restaurant in Saint-Hippolyte.
This typical restaurant proudly bears the name of the grape variety that makes the reputation of Saint-Hippolyte: a Pinot Noir with delicate aroma of red fruits that will of course accompany, if you wish, dishes that you have chosen. On the menu or à la carte, the Alsatian gastronomy is honored with generosity: salad vigneronne, snails in Riesling, garnished choucroute, roasted knuckle of ham, flammekueches and, the chef's speciality, baeckaoffa very tasty! Caution: the restaurant is opened only during the summer... But, during your passage in Saint-Hippolyte, from October to March, you can meet Marc and Christiane Koeberlé-Bleger in their cellar to taste excellent wines: Gewurztraminer Cuvée Prestige 2011, Pinot Gris Vendanges Tardives, Muscat d'Alsace Prix d'Excellence 2012, Riesling Cuvée "Jean Séraphin" 2013 without forgetting, of course, famous Rouge de St Hippolyte! As soon as we cross the threshold of this house we feel like... in family! Well a nice address which preserves its reputation year after year.
