This is a historic address. The Hertzog butcher's shop has been handed down from generation to generation. Although the story begins in 1822 in Hésingue, the company has been present in Saint-Louis since 1928, first on the market, before setting up store in 1932. Proof of its success, other boutiques have since opened. There are now five: Altkirch, Hésingue, Huningue, Saint-Louis and Vieux-Ferrette. Created by the grandfather of Véronique Ott-Hertzog, the current manager, stuffed veal breast is the company's flagship product. Other must-tries include fleischnackas, Gmiesschschnackas, filet anglais and marinated beef ribeye. When it comes to charcuterie, it's impossible to pass by the Hertzog butcher's shop without savoring a slice of liver sausage with 1% truffles on a slice of fresh bread, or the meat sausage typical of our region. A meat sausage created by Victor Hertzog and awarded a silver medal in a competition for all Alsatian butchers. In short, a gourmet spot for all meat and charcuterie enthusiasts. A true Alsatian savoir-faire.
