SAN SEBASTIAN CHAPEL
Chapel also called Oberkirch, with Romanesque bell tower, Gothic nave, 15th and 16th century statues, wooden altar in baroque style
Nestling on the slopes of the Grand Cru Frankstein, this chapel is also known as "Oberkirch". In addition to a Romanesque bell tower and Gothic nave, it houses three statues from the 15th and 16th centuries and a Baroque-style wooden altar by Philippe and Clément Winterhalder. An ossuary preserves the remains of victims of the Peasants' War of 1525. Easily accessible from the wine trail, the chapel can be the starting point for a delightful stroll to the Bernstein ruins.
