The Aquarium des Curieux de Nature is an original way to discover the flora and fauna of Brittany's rivers.
The Aquarium des Curieux de Nature, part of the Centre Régional d'Initiation à la Rivière, run by the Eaux et Rivières de Bretagne association, takes visitors on a plunge into the fresh waters of the region, particularly those of the Léguer. In a faithful recreation of the various natural aquatic environments, visitors discover salmonids, eels, pikes and carp... Over 200 m², no fewer than ten aquariums house more than 200 guests, representing some twenty local species. All year round, outdoor exhibitions are displayed around the elegant building, which is none other than Lady Mond's former castle. In summer, nature outings are organized on the banks of local rivers: discover medicinal plants, make bush toys, search for gold flakes in the Léguer river, treasure hunts on the trail of the otter, independent treasure hunts, walks to discover dragonflies or amphibians... The Centre d'initiation à la rivière also houses a Sports et nature station, where you can rent adult or children's mountain bikes, as well as electric-assisted versions, at modest prices, to set off on an assault on the 200 km of freely accessible trails in the surrounding area. During the vacations, the resort also organizes a wide range of activities: mountain biking and hiking trails, orienteering races for children and families, archery, blowpipe...
