Stroll in the valley of the Saints which is located in Carnoët, in the Breton Easter Island

the "Breton Easter Island", as some people call it, was born in 2008, with the crazy idea of gathering granite statues of Breton saints on a hill in Carnoët. Since then, each year, new statues are created and come to populate the wild grass beaten by the winds of the Valley of Saints. Today, there are about a hundred of them and the ambition of the association at the head of the project is to implant, in the long run, more than 1,000! The walk around these stone colossi is very pleasant and instructive and, from this hill crowned with a feudal mound, the 360 degree view on the whole Poher countryside is really worth the visit. A guide to learn more about the place, the saints, their history and their sculptors, is sold in the store. We also recommend guided tours and treasure hunts to do with children. Finally, every year, from May to October, it is possible to attend the sculpture workcamps. Each site lasts 30 days and sees the creation of five to seven new sculptures. Remember to bring appropriate clothing: all-terrain shoes (when it rains, it's muddy) and a good windbreaker. For those in wheelchairs, there is an unpaved dirt path around the site that allows you to see many of the statues. At the entrance, a large store offers all kinds of souvenirs, as well as a snack bar with local products. Picnic tables are also available for visitors.
