Tower offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Dinan region and the Rance valley.

Erected at the end of the 15th century by the Dinannais bourgeoisie, the Clock Tower towers 47 meters above the medieval town. In 1501, Duchess Anne granted the Dinannais the privilege of owning a clock in their communal tower. The mechanism, manufactured in Nantes and still visible today, is one of the oldest in Europe. The climb up the steps is rewarded by a breathtaking panorama of the Dinan region and the Rance valley. Also worth seeing is the film Dinan in 1750, based on computer-generated images.

Ein MUSS wenn man in Dinan ist. Für die Turmbesichtigung muss man Eintritt bezahlen, was jedoch berechtigt ist. Aus Sicherheitsgründen dürfen nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Personen auf den Turm, was zwar zu Wartezeiten am Eingang führen kann, aber auf dem Turm ist dafür Platz. Die Besucher können bei der Turmbesteigung einen Film über die Besiedelung von Dinan anschauen oder auch das erste Uhrwerk der Turmuhr. Was einen die mögliche Wartezeit am Eingang vergesen lässt, ist die Rundumsicht auf dem Turm. Einfach atemberaubend der Ausblick auf die Stadt, unbeschreiblich. Was wir für sehr positiv empfunden haben, war die Freundlichkeit der Aufsichtsperson. Obwohl wir keinerlei französsch sprachen, versuchte Sie trotzdem uns einiges zu erklären. Vielen Dank. !!!!!

Construída no séc. XV mais como torre observação, só em 1506 é autorizada a instalação de um relógio. Entramos, mas, com pena, não tivemos coragem para subir os muitos degraus e depois a escada para chegar ao seu topo.
