Dinan's fortifications are among the largest and best preserved in Brittany.
With their 2.5 kilometers of curtain walls, 10 towers and 4 gates, the fortifications of Dinan, built between the end of the 13th and the beginning of the 14th centuries, were at the time the third largest stronghold in Brittany. Today, they are the largest and best-preserved fortifications in the region. The Promenade de la Duchesse Anne, which forms the southeast quarter of the fortifications, offers a magnificent panorama of the Rance valley, the port of Dinan, the viaduct and, in the distance, the silhouette of the Château de Léhon. Access via the Jardin Anglais or 18, rue du Général de Gaulle.
