ISLET SAINT-MICHEL
Go there and contact
Islet for a short stroll to discover its former chapel built in 1880 with a bell tower and a statue of Saint-Michel.
Near the small port of Les Hôpitaux, this large pink sandstone rock is connected to the coast by a natural pebble beach, covered at high tide. Be sure to check the timetables, posted on site, before venturing out. But the walk is well worth it, for the view it affords of the coast. At the summit stands a chapel built in 1880, on the foundations of an older one dating back to the 13th century. Its bell tower is topped by a statue of St. Michael slaying the dragon. Many walkers place a shell on its eastern flank as an ex-voto.
