Ruins of the 15th century castle, square-shaped and with a tower at each corner, including remains of walls and towers
If there's not much left of the town's ancient fortifications, it's Richelieu's fault: as elsewhere in France, he had the ramparts razed in 1626 to assert royal authority, in this case against César de Vendôme, then Governor of Brittany, who had conspired against the King. The stones recovered were used to build the Augustine convent. Of the 15th-century château, square in shape with a tower at each corner, good remains of the walls and towers have been preserved and are well worth a visit.
