PAON'S LIGHT
A neo-Breton-style lighthouse on the island of Bréhat, offering panoramic views of the rugged coastline.
Located at the northern tip of the island, the lighthouse takes its name from the Breton word penn, meaning head or point. Built in 1860, it was originally a square turret attached to a main building. For forty years, until 1933, it was guarded by Marie-Perrine Durand, France's first female lighthouse keeper. Destroyed by the Germans in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1948 and fully automated. The neo-Breton-style tower stands on a terrace of masonry pebbles, offering a panoramic view of the rugged coastline.

C'est la partie de l'île que je préfère. Sauvage, granit rose et vue sur la cote balayée par la mer . C'est pour moi une visite incontournable sur l'île de Bréhat.
