A neo-Breton-style lighthouse on the island of Bréhat, offering panoramic views of the rugged coastline.

Located at the northern tip of the island, the lighthouse takes its name from the Breton word penn, meaning head or point. Built in 1860, it was originally a square turret attached to a main building. For forty years, until 1933, it was guarded by Marie-Perrine Durand, France's first female lighthouse keeper. Destroyed by the Germans in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1948 and fully automated. The neo-Breton-style tower stands on a terrace of masonry pebbles, offering a panoramic view of the rugged coastline.

Situé à l’extrémité Nord de l’île, le phare est érigé sur une pointe rocheuse de magnifiques et énormes blocs de granit rose, et lui même est construit de ces même pierres, Cette pointe est beaucoup plus sauvage que le reste de l'île, la mer est souvent agitée et le vent fort. Le passage en bas du phare, à moitié arraché, témoigne de la violence des tempêtes qui déferlent ici. Compter une heure de marche tranquille depuis le bourg où l'on débarque en bateau.
