Very nice restaurant offering a gastronomic cuisine by the chef Patrick Le Cointe.
It is impossible to leave Dinan by taking the direction of Rennes without stopping at the restaurant La Vieille Braise, located in the centre of the village of Lanvallay. Welcomed by Maryline, the very friendly owner with a warm accent, you will settle in a room with exposed stones, comfortably furnished, equipped with a fireplace where glow the fire in winter. In the summer, you can enjoy the terrace, in the garden, under large parasols. The cuisine here is gastronomic, created by chef Patrick Le Cointe, who is dedicated to showcasing local products. As a starter, you will surely hesitate between the grilled toast of smoked salmon and duck breast and the skewer of scallops prawns in a béarnaise sauce of crustaceans. But the choice then becomes more complicated, between the segment of turbot roasted in garlic butter and the punta de lomo with purple mustard. Baileys scented crème brûlée or a passionate melting chocolate and ice cream meeting will finish making your choice definitely cornelian. And of course, a beautiful wine list is available to accompany all these refined dishes, especially good Alsatian wines, the owners' region of origin! It should also be noted that Alsatian evenings are offered once a month in winter, from October to February.
