The church Saint-Nicolas du Vieux-Bourg was abandoned in 1830 and parish worship was transferred to the chapel of the Madeleine until 1834, when the current church was completed. The old Old Town Church built in 1373 by the Saint-Pern family. Left behind during the Revolution, it was first transformed into a workshop for saltpeter fabrication and later, in a cavalry box. Except that representing Saint-Nicodemus, all statues of the old church have unfortunately disappeared. The present church is shaped as a Latin cross. On 8 October 1832 the first stone was laid, on 17 August 1834 the church was consecrated.
