ST. JOHN'S CHURCH
The construction of the church of Saint-Jean dates back to the war of the succession between 1341 and 1364, which opposed Charles de Blois to Jean de Monfort. The Notre-Dame church which provided the parish service, was found on the premises of the castle, and then destroyed. Thanks to a donation from John V, Duke of Brittany, a tower shaped like a Latin cross was added to the church, using the stones of the castle that was destroyed. During the wars of the League, the city is four times besieged and the church is plundered. Original, the large arcades. In the nineteenth century, the rusty abbot began work. Between 1837 and 1840, thanks to municipal credits, he expanded the transept and rebuild the ruined aisles. From 1843 to 1844 a new vestry was built. In 1902, the church saw the realization of a new dome and the rehabilitation of the tower. Organs (1777 renovated in 1989) are classified as historical monuments.
