MUSEUM OF FOLK ART OF THE COUNTRY OF LAMBALLE
The house of the executioner... This is the name of this building whose facade is one of the oldest timber-framed houses of Lamballe. It dates from the sixteenth century. Animated by those passionate about local history, the museum, traces the history of the capital of Penthièvre. Three rooms exhibit collections, witnesses to lifestyles: ceramics, pottery, costumes and headdresses, old photos, local pottery. A model of the city is Lamballe in the Middle Ages before the destruction of the castle and city walls in 1420 which consisted of 45 towers. From this rich history of the ancient fortress of Penthièvre, we can still admire the collegiate that used to be the chapel of the castle.
