MARITIME MUSEUM
Museum retracing the history of deep-sea fishing in Newfoundland and Iceland, with a display of naval vessels.
Not far from the port, in a former cod drier from the 19th century, this museum retraces the epic of the Great Fishery in Newfoundland and Iceland, which made the wealth of the Paimpol shipowners. It also evokes the destiny of Jean-Baptiste Charcot, his polar exploration ship the Pourquoi pas? and his last commander, the Plouézecain Guillaume Le Conniat, all shipwrecked in Iceland in 1936. Finally, you will discover the different types of merchant navy vessels, such as the majestic Cape Horners on which many Paimpolais sailed.
