SENTRY ROCK
This rock is topped by a sentry box rebuilt in the early century to the design of folklorist Théodore Botrel.
Overlooking the sea, this rock is topped by a sentry box rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century on the idea of folklorist Théodore Botrel. Two statues were added, one of Notre Dame de la Mer, the other of Saint Tugdual. From the watchtower, you could keep an eye on the sea and its small islands, from which enemies could emerge. At the foot of the rock is an ancient powder magazine. The Sentinel Rock faces the Thief Rock. Between the two lies a picturesque beach, with a breathtaking view of the Gorse Coast and its granite formations.
