ST. TIEBOUT COLLEGE
The collegiate church of Saint-Thiébaut in Thann, a Gothic gem with a spectacular portal featuring 150 scenes.
Legend has it that when the Count of Ferrette spotted three lights at the top of the fir tree where the relic of Saint Ubaldo rested, he promised to build a chapel. After two centuries of construction, the building is one of the most representative examples of Gothic art in Alsace. Its large portal with 150 scenes and 500 figures is unique, as is the bell tower and its collection of 15th-century stained glass windows. The Collégiale is a priceless heritage site that has been preserved and restored since 2009.
