PORS EVEN
Pors Even, a charming little fishing and oyster-farming port, with a superb chapel, to visit in Ploubazlanec.
A hamlet forming part of Ploubazlanec, this little port with its low-slung houses is steeped in the adventures of the Great Cod Fishery. The Veuves cross, at Pointe de la Trinité, stands on a promontory where women could scan the horizon in the hope of seeing their husbands' schooners returning from Iceland. The pretty chapel of Perros-Hamon is another remarkable building. Today, Pors Even is an active fishing port, full of charm and a little out of time, just like Loguivy-de-la-Mer, on the other side of Ploubazlanec.
