It's both a store and a museum of the shops of yesteryear. Adjacent to the Ménou cookie factory, this astonishing place recreates a village square from the 1930s to the 1960s. There's a hairdressing salon, a café, a garage, a guinguette... Jacques and Martine Ménou, founders of the cookie factory and collectors, wanted to share their passion. A veritable Ali Baba's cave, where old objects mingle with items for sale: drinks, rillettes, crockery... Not forgetting home-made products such as kouign-amann, palets and other Breton cakes.

Discovered quite by accident in a quiet village - and what a gem! We saw from the outside an unusual looking building and curiosity led us round the corner to find it said ‘biscuiterie’ - so we entered, expecting to buy biscuits… what a surprise to find an enormous hanger crammed with things from the 1930’s to 1960’s - it was a museum too! Every inch of the place is filled with themed spaces of the different businesses in those decades… eg. cobbler, farmer, barber, dentist, toys, clothes shop…. and so much more. In amongst all this is an actual biscuit making business run by father and son, who both stopped working to say hello. There is also a cafe for visitors to sit in amongst the displays. There is a huge array of local artisans/producer’s products - so it’s a Breton gift finding gem of place too. Highly recommend this family run business, who were all very friendly - and looking around was free!
