CHAPEL OF KERMARIA AN ISKUIT
Gothic chapel of Kermaria An Iskuit, with a fresco of danse macabre and a porch with statues of the apostles.
This 13th-century Gothic chapel, modified several times thereafter, is famous for its Dance of Death fresco, a rare example of medieval macabre art. Dating from the 15th century, this strip painted on each side of the nave walls features 47 characters, symbolizing all social strata: the ploughman, the shoemaker, the king and even the pope... They all hold hands in the great farandole led by death. The south porch houses the statues of the apostles.
