MUNSTER GATE
Door with windows decorated with scallops and with a bell to warn of the storm in Turckheim.
The Porte de Munster is one of the 3 gates of the city of Turckheim, a reminder of the medieval past of the city. It is also closely linked to the history of witchcraft, because it is from there that the women suspected of being witches went to the place called "La Wann" where they were executed, but also other condemned people like François Charnier, the last one in 1737 who passed into the hands of the Sovereign Council of Alsace! It has windows decorated with scallops and was also used to warn of storms.
