This door is part of the three doors of the city of Turckheim, allowing access to the road called Niedermorschwihr

The Porte de Brand or Oeltor is one of the three gates of the city of Turckheim, formerly the most defensive of the three. It was originally equipped with a portcullis and a drawbridge. Its massive architecture is adorned with a sculpture named Gorgon whose purpose was to mock the enemy! But in fact, where does the Brand Tower get its name from? It comes from the vineyard classified as a Grand Cru. The Tour du Brand gives access to the road called Niedermorschwihr which passes through the Brand pass, winding between the vineyards.
