LAKE OF GUERLEDAN
The largest lake area in Brittany located between Guerlédan and Gouarec, ideal for water sports...
This huge artificial lake of 400 hectares - the largest in Brittany - extends over 12 kilometres on the bed of the Blavet between Guerlédan (new commune) and Gouarec. Created in 1930 to supply the hydroelectric dam, its construction led to the sinking of 17 locks of the Nantes-Brest canal. Today this marvellous lake area nestling in the Quénécan forest, a 4,000-hectare forest massif, is a paradise for lovers of green tourism, who come here to practise water sports, climbing, fishing or hiking.
