The chapel dates back to the th and th centuries. Ruellou's name would come from a Gallic word meaning "ford" in connection with the Sulon river. In the chapel one can see one of the four wheels of Fortune still present in Brittany. It is a wheel of carillon, twelve rays uniting the rim hub of twelve bells. These are copies of solar wheels attributed to the cult of Bélen. The wheel of this chapel is decorated with a white taffeta robe lined with blue velvet, with the colours of the Virgin. It was actuated by a clergyman or a notable at the time of elevation, when the priest presented the host to the faithful. It was also used in collective celebrations: baptisms, marriages and pardons. The wheel is also linked to more superstitious practices… On 4 October 1964, at 21 hours, several people reportedly requested the chapel key. For five hours, a terrible nuisance filled the chapel, diving in a light'stronger than electricity '. At two o'clock in the morning, no noise, the darkness. No one dared to ask what had happened…
