For some, John IV, the duke of Brittany, is the founder of this chapel, but for others, it was founded by the Bégard monks. Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bonne Nouvelle also called Notre-Dame de Kergonan because of the name of the valley where it was erected, was mainly rebuilt in 1670 and 1687, and had some repairs in 1827. It contains a magnificent alter with a altarpiece placed over twisted columns with a statue of Sainte Vierge on a marine landscape, surrounded by Saint Joseph and Saint Vierge statues. It was listed as a historical Monument in November 1952.
