MOLENE ISLAND
More discreet and less famous than its homonyme namesake, Mullein costarmoricaine island is located two kilometres from the coast, minutes by boat from Trébeurden. Mullein is 300 metres long, 100 metres wide and offers beautiful sandy beaches, which is a great summer experience. The Littoral Conservatory, owner of the island since 1991, has thus set up protections to avoid trampling and deterioration of oyas. This vegetation, which stretches over a band of 120 metres out of 80, is indeed vital for the existence of the island, because it lays down the sand. There are also some sites used as refuge for about twenty huitriers, which should not be bothered during breeding (just before the summer season). The problem highlighted by the Littoral Conservatory is the landing of pedestrians accompanied by dogs. Visitors can observe silver gulls, bruns or sailors, residents of the island, as well as splendid @ cormorants occupying the surrounding islets.
