CALVARY
Calvary of Trégastel, surmounted by a pietà with a spiral path leading to several niches, which is worth a look
Raised on the highest point of the town, this Calvary, with its rather unusual appearance, was built in 1872 by Father Bouget. A local figure, who also built the statue of the Eternal Father, above the current marine aquarium. The altar is surmounted by a pietà and the spiral path leads to several niches with statues, small oratories and marble slabs bearing sentences in the Breton language. The first statue along the route represents a kneeling peasant holding a spade and a hat, the second Saint Joseph carrying the Child Jesus, the third Saint Lawrence and the fourth, located at the top, facing north, Saint Francis Xavier. A curiosity that is worth a look!
