The Société Canine Bretonne was founded in 1912. Between the wars, it organized an annual spring field trial for pointing dogs on partridges, a pack trial for hounds on hares and two dog shows. In 1964, the first woodcock field trials for pointing dogs were held in the Quenecan forest. Today, this dynamic canine society organizes competitions and shows in various canine disciplines, including hunting and water work.
