LAKE SAINT-MICHEL
This huge lake of 450 hectares was created with the establishment of the Nestavel dam in 1937. Also known as the Saint-Michel Reservoir, it is located at the foot of the mountain of the same name, in the heart of the Arrée mountains. It extends over several municipalities (Brennilis, Botmeur, Brasparts and Loqueffret) but you can only access it by car from Brennilis and Botmeur. Shallow (7 m maximum), it shelters pike, trout and perch, making it a popular place for fishermen. Since 2002, it has had the status of a Great Interior Lake. You can go around it, thanks to the 15 km circuit that has been designed for this purpose. Or simply enjoy the environment during a picnic and a swim (note the presence of a children's playground). Superb and bewitching, especially when the fog comes up!
