LE TRAM
Inaugurated and put into service in 2012, the streetcar has quickly been adopted by Brest residents and is now part of the urban landscape. Line A, 14.3 km long, crosses the city from east to west and has 28 stations. Rest assured, travel time from one end of the line to the other is around 40 minutes! The tramway crosses the town from Porte de Plouzané (in front of the Thalès company) to Porte de Guipavas, in the Froutven area, or Porte de Gouesnou, in the Kergaradec area. The line operates from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 7.30 a.m. to 0.30 a.m. on Sundays. Departures are every 5 to 10 minutes between 6.30 a.m. and 8 p.m., so waiting times at stations are kept to a minimum. The trams are equipped with platforms for people with reduced mobility, and bicycles can be transported on the streetcar at certain times of the day. Smart: the streetcar is part of the Bibus network, and users can use tickets on streetcars, buses and cable cars alike. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Bibus agency or from the ticket machines installed at each station.
