A cinema highlight highlighting young filmmakers in Europe.
Since 1986, the Côte Ouest association has been working to promote cinema, and particularly short films, in Brittany. Every year, it organizes an unmissable event: the European Short Film Festival. It's the perfect opportunity to present an exceptional program, showcasing the cinematic practices of our neighbors, from the Czech Republic to Norway, via Hungary and Ireland! It's a condensed selection of the best European short films that you can discover in Brest's cinemas. But that's not all, as certain genres are given pride of place: zany and endearing films in Brest Off, a type of cinema that takes risks in La compétition OVNI, Breton productions in Made in Breizh, current issues in L'Europe en court... For the little ones, three short film programs are on offer to awaken their curiosity. Animated films and dramas from age 3, "Pour les pitchounes", from age 8 "Des contes et des couleurs", and from age 13 "Mines de rien". Encounters, educational booklets, exhibitions, workshops: everything is done to help children better understand the world of images. Young and old, cinephiles or the curious, lovers of escapism or encounters will all be in for a treat. Every autumn, the European Short Film Festival is an invitation to travel!
