5 skippers will attempt to complete a solo round-the-world voyage in their giant multihulls.
The Arkéa Ultim Challenge-Brest is an extraordinary nautical event: a solo round-the-world race reserved for giant trimarans in the Ultim 32/23 class. Organized by OC Sport Pen Duick, a subsidiary of the French Le Télégramme group, this race is a real challenge for the most seasoned sailors. The course is identical to that of the legendary Vendée Globe, but with one major difference: the start and finish are in Brest. The course starts in Brest, then passes the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin and Cape Horn, and finishes with a climb back to Brest. In all, the skippers cover some 40,000 kilometers.
